Every year in Australia, thousands of children are born with some form of disability. DKD is committed to providing as many families as possible with a trained companion or assistance dog, so that each child may know the loyalty, love and support of a trained canine companion.

Our curious pups begin their life at DKD when they are just 8-10 weeks old. They are raised by our very generous puppy foster families for the first 12 months, and then enter into formal training. Over the course of this time the pups are provided with food, healthcare and vaccinations, de-sexing and basic necessities such as collars, leashes and toys.

Unfortunately DKD does not receive any government funding. Therefore our pups rely on the generosity of others to help them reach their full potential. It costs approximately $25,000 to raise and train a full assistance dog. We need your help to continue our commitment to children with disabilities.

Sponsor a Puppy

Sponsoring a pup is a great way to see your pup grow from an adorable ball of cuteness, into a proud and confident assistance dog. For as little as $20 dollars a month (tax deductible donation) you will receive regular updates on your pup, photos and share in all the excitement of your pups eventual graduation from the program. Click here to sponsor one of our current DKD pups in training.
